This is a great book as it is interesting and informative at the same time, so your children don't actually feel like they are learning something (which when it comes to most children is a good thing).

This books covers pretty much everything from cars to robots to jet engines. For each topic it gives a basic run down of the topic and in some cases even give a basic description on how they work (such as a cars engine).

As with all Ripley's books the writing is of an extremely high level, but at the same time is at a level that is perfect for the 7+ age group.

My oldest boy loved this book and is already harping on at me to find the others in the series.
