My 6 year old daughter was given a copy of of the Captain Underpants books and when we started to read it she liked it. When I went to pick my review stock up, I was given the opportunity to review this title. Well as we started to read this she seemed to enjoy it very much, she also loved the flip-o-ramas they have in there which is 2 images on separate pages say pages 1 and 3 and you turn the page back and forth to get a motion based image.

Once we got past the flip-o-rama pages we came across a saying that was in the book that sticks with her and she loves it. The saying was "It's a Y.P (Your Problem) not a M.P (My Problem). This now comes through with anything that isn't her problem.

The great thing about these books is that they are written from the point of view of a preschooler and therefore the words aren't focusing on spelling and more on how they sound which made it easier for my daughter to ready by herself. From a parent's point of view it's not something that I'm into with talk of pee and poo but it it does have some morals about it like helping people and other things as well - that is more of a spoiler.

My daughter said "I like how the flippies worked, the way the pictures looked without colour." She also like how the good guys teased the bad guys.

This book is quite possibly the pick of the bunch we got to review this time around. We love Dav Pikley, the true author of this awesome book. He wrote Captain Underpants and a bunch of other cool books we have been discovering at the library. His books always have an element of adult humour to them, but in general its all bodily fluids and toilets. For any age, that's just a smart combo to have.

This book is written in a style that we know to be George and Harold's comic books from Captain Underpants. They are two gifted and talented primary aged kids who love to do super hero stories. Because the "authors" are little kids, the spelling in this book is substandard but actually that's kind of part of its charm. I also think my 6 year old finds it easier to read some of the more difficult sentences in this book because the words are spelt more like she would spell them.

This book has all the fun of the fliporamas that we love from Captain Underpants. It has super hero action, a dastardly villain and people to save. My daughter's favourite part is when the main villain is consumed. I'm not going to reveal anything more, except to say it is so funny. My favourite part is an entire chapter written in the style of the Grinch who Stole Christmas. Very very clever stuff, while appearing to be childish and immature.

This is the first book in ages that I have found my daughter numerous times reading by herself. This is totally unheard of and was a very pleasant surprise. I am so impressed in fact, that I plan to go and find Super Diaper Baby 1 in a bookshop this weekend.
