So this is another great book if you want a quick back story before heading to see The Avengers but probably my least favourite out of the three I have read (being The Mighty Thor, Spider-Man and this) if I had to rank them.

This story tells how Tony Stark came to be The Invincible Iron Man. The text is easy to read in fact probably the easiest of the three books and uses bold and colourful text to emphasise words. The illustrations are good and colourful often covering whole pages but not as detailed as The Mighty Thor. My girls found some of the pictures a bit scary (they aren't really too bad) but are probably below the recommended age group for this book. As with The Mighty Thor you can follow the story just looking at the pictures. This goes back to the origins being Marvel Comics so is in keeping with that style.

The story also mentions other characters I don't know of such as Titanium Man and Iron Monger so there may be other books relating specifically to them?

I think this book probably fits in more with the whole Marvel Super-Heroes theme as although Tony aka Iron Man does good with his inventions there wasn't a value thread in this book like with The Mighty Thor and Spider-Man.

I would definitely recommend this book if you like your Marvel Super-Heroes but it perhaps isn't as strong a stand alone book as the others.

Although small, this was actually a cool book. I've watched the movie Iron Man, and I found this a simpler and less detailed version of the movie, and that was something that I enjoyed. The artwork was actually quite cool, It looks like someone painted it and then the images were photocopied, and it is some good inspiration for new art styles as well.

Now, with me being a pre-teen, and this is a children's book, me enjoying it could mean that if kids in the target audience read it, they would want to read it over and over again, so this is very good. The price is good, it is at that goldilocks level, where the price is to high and people can't afford it, yet not too low as to make people think that this is a bad book, so the price/value gets a 10/10.

I would say that the book is good for kids 5+, where the age limit ends is, I think, unique to every reader as it is up to them when they have had enough with this book, I even think that I'll re-read this book again sometime. I hope you enjoy the book, your kids will love it.
