Absolutely Anything product reviews

Unbeknownst to school teacher Neil Clarke (Simon Pegg), a group of eccentric aliens (voiced by the Monty Python team) decide to place the fate of humanity in his hands. In order to determine if they should destroy Earth or not, the aliens endow Neil with the ability to make ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING he wishes for happen.

Once Neil realises that he has these new special powers, it takes him more than a few goes (while giving us more than a few laughs) to try and get the hang of it - all the while the aliens are watching.

Will he prove a worthy representative or doom Earth to annihilation?

Sadly this is Robin Williams last movie that he ever made and was released on his one year anniversary of his passing. I found his performance was lacking in personality and instead of finding his character funny or charming it was just plain old annoying. It is sad to think he died with this very mediocre movie as his last gift to the world.

The opening credits were rather painful to listen too and I was shocked to find out that Roger Taylor was the singer from Queen fame. A long with singing off key there was space footage and I got quite worried as the special effects where really badly done as well and was concerned how the movie was going to carry on. Although it improved in areas it definitely did not meet its full potential. There were a couple of laugh out loud moments but for the most I found myself just stearing at the screen with no real emotions at all.

The monty python boys added nothing special to the aliens, who got to choose if the human race would survive or not based on Peggs actions. After finding out that he had the power there is so much he could do with it and predictably it all goes wrong. His choice of words were of course a huge problem and you would of thought he would of learnt pretty early on. I did like the mention of New Zealand going to war with Iceland for no particular reason at all. But not a lot really happens and nothing gets accomplished in all honesty.

I usually enjoy Pegg movies and find his sense of humour can be hilarious but this movie just misses the mark. Even with the actors attached to this movie they couldn't help it. Its just an average movie with no real excitement and average performances. But in saying that my husband had his tablet down for the whole movie and said at the end that it wasn't bad so that is saying something. Maybe I just had higher expectations then he did. The actors I found didn't gel that well and the only character I kinda enjoyed just got tedious with his whining. Like I said an average movie.
