Ice Age has come along way from just being Manny, Sid and Diego it now has the likes of Granny, Ellie, Peaches and Buck to name a few and as you watch this movie it is rather fascinating at how fast a family can grow. It really hits home with the fact they are all part of a herd and look out for each other regardless of the species. It is also nice that they are all pairing up with a significant other even Sid.

Not the type of movie to see during the school holidays as the cinema we went to had kids yelling and screaming down the aisles which kinda took the tension of the movie. Instead all you heard was adults screaming at the kids and a lot of crying and it always seemed to happen during the quiet periods which made it extremely annoying. Also having so many small children around it really allowed you to notice when the slow parts were happening as that is when the talking got louder.

It is not a bad movie, don't get me wrong it just took a while to set the story up and was not always fast paced which made a lot of people restless. But by the end of the movie the whole theatre was quiet as it is quite tense and action packed. There is a lot of humour added to the movie and I think a lot is added for the adults enjoyment and went over the kids heads. Scrat was up to his normal shenanigans and besides the part where the gravity is turned off and he is trying to move around it is light and fun.

I loved the way the planets, moon and the sun were explained and it is all thanks to that elusive acorn that the galaxy is set up the way it is. Buck brought the brains and also the mental breakdown so you were always having a roller coaster with him and Manny and Elie are finding it hard of letting go of Peaches. Basically its just Ice Age being Ice Age. Its fun, bright, zanny, clever and a great family movie. Both my four year old and seven year old loved it and asked if there will be another movie after this one. I am sure there will be. It is nice Sid finally found the love of his life even if the story line is a little weak and unhinged but still its love so its all good.

definitely a great movie to watch if you are into the Ice Age movies, can't wait for the next installment.
