Forest product reviews

The magical game for the whole family. Form infinite landscapes using whimsical cards.
The goal?
Collect the most cards possible. You can collect cards if you are the first to spot seven small creatures hidden in the cards on the table.

Forest is a lovely little game that you can fit into your bag, without taking up much space at all but provide a good amount of fun. There are two basic types of cards to be used to build a fairy tale forest, ones which have tree trunks and ones that are full of the tree tops. Throughout these cards are various fairy tale creatures and characters, some which are well known ones such as The Beast and Pinocchio but some are a little lesser known which is a fun little learning point if you have google handy and my kids have enjoyed finding out who they are.

The aim of the game is to collect cards, the person with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner and the game ends when you can't collect any groups of creatures anymore. You need a bit of strategy to play the game as there are four creatures, the owls, gnomes (not to be confused with the seven dwarves), frogs and faeries, and each card has a different quantity of one or another of these creatures on them. You need to spot groups of seven of whichever of the four you can see, this leads to planning because you don't want others to be able to make a group.

This is a fun little game with lovely artwork, a game that my 7, 9 and 11 year olds all enjoy.
